Pho'nomenal Gametime: How to Host Football Sunday, Vietnamese-Style
Football's back and we're doing game day a little differently this year. Welcome to Pho'nomenal Gametime — our football season playbook, three snack boards deep.
One board for pregame. One for halftime. One for the fourth quarter. All Vietnamese-forward, all built around the good stuff, all easy to pull off with a run to your local Vietnamese deli plus a stocked Pho'nomenal pantry.
The Bánh Mì Board — Pregame Grazing
Build-your-own bánh mì, family-style. Set it out an hour before kickoff and let people graze while everyone arrives.
What's on it:
- Pâté and Vietnamese cold cuts (from your local Vietnamese deli)
- Sliced crusty French baguette
- Đồ chua (pickled daikon + carrot)
- Fresh cilantro sprigs
- Sliced cucumber
- Sliced jalapeño
- Sriracha mayo + Maggi seasoning
- Pho'nomenal Ripened Jackfruit Chips
The move: ask your local Vietnamese deli what their best cold cuts are that day. Cha lua (Vietnamese pork sausage) is a good default if you're not sure.
The Pho Bar — Halftime Warmup

What's on it:
- Pho'nomenal Pho Bowls (all four flavors — Beef, Chicken, Veggie, Spicy — in mini serving cups)
- Thai basil, mint, cilantro
- Sliced jalapeño + lime wedges
- Sriracha, hoisin, fish sauce
- Chopsticks + spoons
The move: if you're only serving one flavor, heat the pho broth in a big pot on the stove and let people ladle their own into mini bowls at halftime. Set out the garnishes buffet-style.
The Vietnamese Sweet Board — Fourth Quarter Fuel

Late-game energy that doesn't derail you.
What's on it:
- Pho'nomenal Ripened Jackfruit Chips
- Chocolate hazelnut spread — for dipping (yes, dip the chip)
- Vanilla ice cream — one tub, one scoop, endless possibilities
- Fresh sliced fruits (mango, dragonfruit, strawberries, whatever you have!)
- Small snacks, candy and dark chocolate squares
- Toasted coconut flakes
- Coconut condensed milk (for drizzling on everything)
The move: scoop vanilla ice cream into a bowl, drizzle coconut condensed milk over it, and crush a few jackfruit chips on top. Trust us.
